It can be a little overwhelming to figure out how to get one.

I want to break it down for you whether you are renewing or applying for the first time.

  • Proof of Citizenship: Certified birth certificate, previous passport(if you are renewing), certificate of naturalization, or consular report of birth abroad.
  • Proof of Identity: A valid driver’s license, government-issued identification card, or previous passport can all serve as proof. You only need one.
  • Passport Application Form: Fill out the appropriate application form, available either online or in person at a passport acceptance facility. – Online Link HERE https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply.html

You will make an appointment at a nearby passport acceptance facility, such as a post office or a designated government office.

Schedule an appointment as soon as you can! It may be booked out for weeks or even months.

Fill out the passport application form accurately and legibly. You can do this online and print it out, or fill it out in person at the Passport Location.

Provide personal details, contact information, and travel plans as requested. ALWAYS double-check for any errors or missing information before submitting the application.

Passport application fees vary depending on factors such as your age, type of passport, and processing options.
